Join members of CRE-MSD, Canadian Institute for Safety, Wellness & Performance, Canadian Standards Association, Paramedic Chiefs of Canada, and the Paramedic Association of Canada for the launch of the new Ergonomic Design Standard for Ambulances and Related Equipment – CSA Z500. Maintaining the health, wellbeing and effectiveness of our paramedic workforce is of the upmost importance. The new Canadian Standard sets out requirements and provides guidance for the design, layout, and procurement of ambulances and related equipment with a focus on the application of ergonomics. In addition, this Standard provides infection prevention and control guidelines for consideration in the design of ambulances and equipment.
This exciting one-day launch event will introduce and guide attendees through the Standard. Sessions will include: a summary and review of the research evidence informing the Standard, advice on integrating the Standard into a services procurement process, a manufacturer’s perspective on the integration and utility of the Standard, and last but not least, a discussion of the impact and value of the Standard for front-line paramedics. The event will wrap-up with a Question & Answer session and social.
