Members receive discounted rates at ACE professional development events. While these events are primarily aimed at practicing ergonomists, reduced student rates are sometimes offered for these events as well.
Student Awards
Undergraduate and graduate student members are eligible for awards (Conference Site/Student Awards) held in conjunction with the annual conference.
Applications received after July 1 are entitled to a 40% discount on first year member dues.

Individuals with an interest in human factors/ergonomics research, development, application or teaching, who do not have a formal academic background in the area of ergonomics

Individuals studying some aspect of human factors/ergonomics (full time or part time)
Individuals who are studying some aspect of human factors/ ergonomics (full time or part time), are eligible to become student members of ACE (Endorsement is required by a member of the faculty of the institution).
For eligible ACE student members, in good standing, who have completed a certificate, diploma, undergraduate or graduate level degree, in an ergonomics/human factors or a related program. For the first membership renewal period immediately following graduation.
Endorsement is required by a member of the faculty of the institution.
Transitional Member is a subcategory of class B non-voting members.
An individual Member of the Association who has been in good standing for ten years or more preceding application, is retired, and does not derive significant income from employment. Retired individuals can request a Retired Member application from the National Office. The application requires the individual’s signature and oath that they meet the definition of a retired Member.
