Dr. Catherine Trask is a UBC Occupational and Environmental Health Alumna with a focus on physical hazards and risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders. She spent the last decade at the Canadian
Centre for Health and Safety in Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada. In her roles there as Professor and Canada Research Chair in Ergonomics and Musculoskeletal Health, she was the founding director of the Centre’s Ergonomics Laboratory, leading an interdisciplinary research program focused on ergonomics in agriculture and other heavy industries.  After a summer move, she is now working at the Ergonomics Department of the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.  Her current research projects seek to combine the ‘user-centred design’ approach central to ergonomics, the ‘hierarchy of control paradigm’ of industrial hygiene, and ‘community-engaged research’ strategies from public health.
