Call for Submissions (ACE2024)

This is the call for abstract submission for the 2024 Conference of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists, to be held Oct 22nd through 24th 2024 in Calgary, Alberta.

The theme for the conference is Optimizing Human Performance!

1. Overview

We will be meeting in person again in 2024 out West in Calgary, Alberta.  This year’s conference will explore practical solutions, case-studies, and the latest research in the advancing world of ergonomics and human factors. Within this theme of “Optimizing Human Performance”, the conference will include keynotes, panel discussions, workshops, and research award presentations. The conference will be targeted to various industries to demonstrate how ergonomics and human factors can optimize performance and safety in organizations.  There will be poster and podium presentations of research and case study submissions.

Themes for 2024 include:

  • Case Studies of Applied Ergonomics
  • Return on Investment
  • MSD Prevention
  • Human & Organizational Performance (HOP)
  • Fatigue Management
  • Human Factors / Ergonomics in Design

2. Call for Submissions

The ACE 2024 Organizing Committee welcomes your original work written in English or French. We welcome abstract submissions in the form of a 1-page abstract.  All submissions will undergo peer review. 
Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to submit their abstract for award consideration. Undergraduate research will be presented in the form of a poster and judged during the poster session. Masters and PhD award finalists will be notified and invited to present in a podium session, all other accepted submissions will be considered for the open call for presentations or posters. The categories of abstract consideration are: 

  • Undergraduate Student (Research Award) – Format: Poster  
  • MSc / MA / Graduate Certificate Student (Research Award) – Format: Presentation 
  • PhD Student (Research Award) – Format: Presentation 
  • Open Call for Research – Format: Presentation, Panel or Poster 
  • Open Call for Case Studies – Format: Presentation, Panel or Poster

Please submit all abstracts by Google Forms at the following link by the deadline in Section 3. Please indicate which submission category you are applying to:

3. Important Dates

  • Open Call for Submissions: May 8, 2024
  • Submission Deadline: July 1, 2024 July 31, 2024
  • Award finalists and poster presenters by July 31, 2024 August 30, 2024
